Summary: This book is a book set to help you achieve your goals with the harsh reality of getting over it and move on attitude. However, it also has real-world examples of how you can change your life and get “MORE” out of it.

After reading the novel, If Life Stinks, Get Your Head Outta Your But’s: A No-Nonsense Guide to Happiness and Success is written by Mark L. Wdowiak, I enjoyed that fact that it was a real tough love wake up call, and it had some examples from Wdowiak life, for example when he has to buy his own car in high school. Wdowiak’s novel is geared toward an audience of individuals who need a bit of tough love in their life. I also like to point out that, the plot is not intended for those who want a sugar-coated way of thinking. In which, Wdowiak states “If you are an individual who loves to spend time overthinking, rehashing, and discussing the same issues trying to figure out the secrets of the universe to the point of total exhaustion, then this book may not be for you” (location 73.) This may feel overwhelming for some if that is the case you should read a few other books, and then come back to this one. However; as I will discuss later, much as it is harsh is important for the narrative.

This is a problem because I often knew I had a similar issue but I was reading this book to fix it not to know I need to fix myself. I guess this book was just trying to give the reader a wakeup call instead of helping you. Which in a way destroyed the point of it so with this said brings me to my next point. What I rated this book and why.

I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars because it felt dry and repetitive in the first few chapters maybe this was because this narrative is new to me for a self-help book in which case if you disagree I recommend reading the book. This book is dry and repetitive might also feel this way to me because I felt like I was reviewing for a test. The way everything was laid out. On the other hand with that said I do feel there was aspects of the book I enjoyed such as how the author teaches you the lesson of “preparing for opportunity before it strikes, and “ ( chapter 7) Everything you need to know will come about at the right time (chapter 10) these lessons I felt were important enough to bump up from a 2 out of 5 stars to a 3 out of 5 stars

Now that you have heard my thoughts you might be asking is this really worth my time? my answer is do you need the tough love to kick you out of a mental rut? or do you need more of a tutorial on how to change your life? If you chose the latter then I suggest reading another book. As stated above this book is very harsh and somewhat repetitive. However, despite the negative aspects of the book, I did take some points away from the book such as never giving up and a bunch of lessons that I can’t all mention here. Again I gave this book a 3 out of 5 stars so I say give it a chance if you need the tough love.
